"Corporate Governance is concerned with holding the balance between economic and social goals and
between individual and communal goals. The corporate governance framework is there to encourage the
efficient use of resources and equally to require accountability for the stewardship of those resources.
The aim is to align as nearly as possible the interests of individuals, corporations and society"
- Sir Adrian Cadbury in 'Global Corporate Governance Forum', World Bank, 2000
Emerald Planet Biofuels believes that our success is supported and enhanced by our commitment to the
highest levels of corporate governance. This means fostering a culture that values and rewards the
highest ethical standards, personal and corporate integrity, and respect for the environment. Our
approach to governance is founded on the belief that there is a verifiable link between high-quality
governance, high level corporate services and project performance.
In formulating our governance framework, the regulatory requirements in Indonesia, Australia, the UK
and the US are taken into account, together with standards of best practice. Where governance
principles vary across these jurisdictions, as they inevitably do, the Directors have resolved to
adopt those principles that they consider to be the better of the prevailing standards, within the
framework of Singaporean and Indonesian law.
